Amethyst is one of the most historical gemstones known to man and was once as valuable as sapphires, diamonds, rubies and emeralds. Amethyst’s beautiful purple color has always been associated with royalty and religion and they were traditionally worn as rings by church bishops.
Amethyst gemstones have been found in the tombs of Ancient Egyptian Pharaohs, in the crown jewels of Queen Elizabeth II and were one of the original 12 gemstones of Aaron’s breastplate spoken of in the bible.
